Our Vision of Sandtown

We at New Song are committed to restoring beauty and vibrancy to our community. We have nearly 100 staff members working toward our common vision of ever-increasing justice and shalom for every family.

Each of us are blessed because we have the privilege of seeing this vision tangibly carried out every day as children receive quality education at the Learning Center, as families experience the joy of homeownership through Habitat and as individuals embark on new careers with the aid of Eden Jobs. Even the trees we plant are a daily reminder of the renewal of Sandtown.

Each Spring, as newly planted trees bloom for the first time and last year’s trees celebrate yet another year, we are reminded of the victories amidst the continued struggles in Sandtown. With brightly painted houses lining streets and children singing on their way to choir rehearsal, restored hope is all around us; progress cannot be denied. Yet vacant houses remain and many families continue to struggle to make ends meet. In time, these needs will be met through the dedication and faith of Sandtown’s residents and New Song staff in partnership with private and public organizations and individuals. We look forward to celebrating each future milestone with you and thank you for your faithful support!

Our Mission in Sandtown

Fifteen years ago, the partnership of area congregations was key in beginning the work of New Song Community Church. They faithfully gave financial and prayer support to a group of individuals with a heart for the city and a desire to love their neighbors. As New Song gained community partners and began programs, each expansion was accompanied with invaluable support from the foundation, corporate and faith communities. All of us at New Song are deeply grateful for those who believe in the worthiness of our mission and trust us with your time, energy and funds - without you the rebuilding of Sandtown would truly not be possible.
